Fujifilm shutter count checker

Drop an original photo from your Fujifilm camera to see its shutter count. The file is read on your device and never uploaded.

Drop an original Fujifilm photo

JPEG or RAW (NEF, ARW, PEF, DNG, RAF) straight from the memory card. Read on this device, never uploaded.

You can also paste a copied image. Heads-up: some phone photo pickers remove location before a browser ever sees the file. If a photo you know is geotagged shows no GPS here, pick it through the Files app instead.

Use the original file

Take a fresh photo, copy it from the card to your computer or phone without opening it in an editor, and drop it here. Editors, phones’ share sheets and social networks strip the maker notes where the count lives.

Which Fujifilm cameras are supported

Fujifilm X-series bodies with recent firmware write an ImageCount into their JPEG and RAF files. Fujifilm notes it can reset after firmware updates, and it is stored as a 15-bit value, so it wraps after 32,767.

Other ways to find it

Fujifilm cameras do not show the count in menus. Original files straight from the card are the only file-based source.

Rated shutter life

Fujifilm publishes shutter durability for some X-series bodies (often 150,000 to 300,000 cycles). Check your model’s spec sheet.

Other brands: Nikon · Sony · Canon · Pentax and Ricoh. Or see how shutter counts are stored.

Questions people ask
